Projects - Black Kitchen
Donvale Kitchen
The client, a knowledgeable industry insider, came to us with a clear brief and design vision for their kitchen. The challenge? To create a black kitchen that exuded sophistication without feeling dark or cramped.
Thanks to the abundance of natural light and soaring ceilings, we were able to use a light coloured timber floor to balance out the space and create an elegant, sleek look. The result is a stunning kitchen that oozes sophistication and modernity.
One of the standout features of this kitchen is the clever design of the overhead cabinets. With a 20mm overhang, the owner can effortlessly open the doors without any visible handles disrupting the clean lines. The base cabinets also have a push-to-open release, making for a seamless and easy-to-use storage solution.
The attention to detail doesn't stop there. Dedicated bin drawers, spice pullouts and cutlery inserts have been included to maximise functionality and make everyday tasks a breeze.
At first glance, it may seem like there are two rows of overhead cabinets, but in fact, the top row is a bulkhead with panels of the door material to match the rest. This subtle design feature adds a touch of luxury to the space without compromising on practicality.
And for those concerned about storage space, fear not. A spacious butler's pantry has been tucked away just behind the kitchen wall, offering plenty of additional storage options. All in all, this kitchen is a stunning example of how to combine form and function to create a space that's as beautiful as it is practical.
